#490: Beware of Satan (and Pray!)

The war is real! I seem to be praying (or should be praying) more every day.

When I started this blog, I had began to read the Bible for the sixth time, and doing so without any reference material, using any study aid (except for a dictionary or Hebrew Bible), or listening to any online sermons. It was just myself, the Bible, and praying that God would send His Spirit to lead me. And man, were my eyes opened. But, there were problems.

As a person with low self-esteem, I was concerned whether I was being led by God, or by Satan. A lot of what I was believing was pretty radical from that of main stream Christianity, and I worried whether I, myself, was becoming a false prophet. So I prayed. I even asked God that, if anything I was writing wasn’t the truth, to stop me.

Then there were several obstacles in my path; e.g. my family wouldn’t give me time to study and write, or in the middle of studying the phone would ring and derail my thoughts, so I considered that that might me God trying to tell me I was on the wrong path. But then I wondered, was it God or Satan trying to derail me? So I prayed more.

And after I’ve started this, every day I see more and more people on social media reading Bible verses and giving their impression of God’s word. And I think, is this some kind of revival, or is this Satan trying to muddy the waters?

And the fact that any of these thoughts come into head tells me that Satan is working hard to mess with my brain. I’m not special, he’ll try to mess with yours as well.

All of what I’m writing shows the need for prayer. And not just a simple daily prayer, but constant prayer. Pray over every thought you have. Pray at every turn. Pray like you’ve never prayed before. We are at war with Satan, and we need to pray as those we are God’s warriors (which we are!)

There are times your faith will be questioned. There are times when you are tempted to believe something that goes against your common sense. There are times when spiritual doubt will try to rule your day. Pray. Prayer is the answer. We are on God’s side, the right side. He is our King.

“Father, please keep my heart and mind, as well as the hearts and minds of everyone reading this and the hearts and minds of every Christ, open to understanding Your truth.

Protect us from distractions that might lead us down the wrong path in life.

Protect us from the misdirection of Satan as he is in full attack mode, using psychological warfare to cloud our minds, our spirit, and our faith.

Hear our prayers Lord, lift our spirits, guide us down the right path.

We love and worship you.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.”

One last comment. When people hear the word “Antichrist”, they think of an end time being or beast, when in actually, the word Antichrist means anything that is “against Christ”. And we are seeing that more and more every day.

When we see states passing laws that permit the killing of babies up to the minute of birth, that is an Antichrist.

When we see proponents fight to allow men to use women’s rest rooms, or women’s locker rooms, that is an Antichrist.

There are many, many Antichrists right under our nose every where we look, in politics, in our educational systems, and sadly, in our church. Keep your eyes open. Sometimes it comes disguised as spirituality, or Christianity, or humanity, you just never know. The devil is a liar, and he is a sly, sly dog.

Blessings.

P.S. Read your Bible for yourself, and do not rely on me or your pastor, or anyone else to show you the truth. Allow God and His Spirit to lead you! Get with God, now!
