THE REAL MEANING OF LIFE

  • #383: Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” – Matthew 5:6 This is one of the beatitudes Jesus taught during the Sermon on the Mount. A beatitude, as defined by Merriam-Webster is a “state of bliss”, synonymous with joy and happiness. It is obvious to me, that if we follow these teachings of Christ, our lives will be full of joy and happiness. Everything taught by Jesus and instructed… Continue reading

  • #382: Isaiah 32-34

Isaiah 33:14…”The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling grips the ungodly: “Who of us can dwell with a consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with everlasting flames?” He who walks righteously and speaks with sincerity, who refuses gain from extortion, whose hand never takes a bribe, who stops his ears against murderous plots and shuts his eyes tightly against evil—he will dwell on the heights; the mountain fortress will be his refuge; his food… Continue reading

  • #381: “Blessed are those who hunger…”

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” – Matthew 5:6 After Jesus selected His disciples, He began touring the land, teaching in the synagogues and along the way, healing people of their illnesses. Jesus didn’t come to earth to heal the sick, He came to show us the truth about God which had been greatly misconstrued over the years. A great number of people began following Him, listening… Continue reading

  • #380: Isaiah 28-31

Once again, we find Isaiah prophesying the warning the people what the consequences of their actions will be if they don’t turn back to God. Jonah was lucky, it didn’t take much to change the hearts of the people of Ninevah, but to those Isaiah is warning, they are definitely a “stiff necked” rebellious group. Again, you can read these chapters, these prophesies, and they are pretty redundant. The poetic words are just slightly different… Continue reading

  • #378: Isaiah 25-27

These three chapters have been grouped and titled “Isaiah’s Songs of Praise. Once again, they are very poetic which causes me difficulties in understanding. I always pray that the Lord impresses on me the lesson He wants me to learn from this reading, and today He only pointed out a couple of things. I don’t know whether to think the rest of the scriptures wasn’t noteworthy or whether my mind is just too closed today.… Continue reading

  • #376: Isaiah 23-24

Forgive me if I sound like a broken record, but I have no other choice. When we read Isaiah, we have to take into consideration that Isaiah is a prophet, who prophesies about the future. While most consider it a threat of the punishment God will inflict, I rather interpret it as a warning, a warning of what will happen if they continue to separate themselves from God. God is love, and to stay close… Continue reading

  • #374: Isaiah 22

I’m not the dumbest man in the world, but I hope he doesn’t die. All kidding aside, I’m not a very smart man. I’ve never enjoyed literature, or reading, or contemplating what I’m reading. I was terrible in English in school, terrible in literature class, terrible even in Government class, not that I didn’t understand the mechanics of government, but when it came to analyzing social impacts and foreign policy, I just couldn’t wrap my… Continue reading
